MMMM...Tasty!!

What would Christmas be without a giant candy cane to suck on.
Gavin decided that he needed at least 5 candy canes a day to be happy. He would find candy canes on the tree or on the counter or in a basket or on the table. He was constantly bringing us a candy cane for us to open for him. It pretty much replaced every meal.

It's a White Christmas

Living in California there arent too many chances to play in snow, so it was a real treat to spend christmas in Utah where we had a wonderful white christmas. Gavin thought snow was pretty awesome and loved to be out in it. His Dad helped him make a snow angel and he sampled some clean snow. He would pick up a handful and blow it off his gloves. It was great fun to see him enjoying his first snow.

Gavin meets Santa

Just chillin at the Ward Christmas party. Gavin had a great time with all the little kids that showed up for the party. He had a girlfriend for the night. She would come ask me if she could play with Gav and they would chase each other. Pretty cute stuff!
Santa came to our party and Gav got some good treats. And no that is not his mom or dad in the photo with him. Our friend took him to see Santa while I took pictures and Jared attended a very important party elsewhere. (dont tell him I snitched on him)As you can see by Gavins face he was so excited, on the inside, to see Santa. Actually by that time he was warn out from running around. All in all we had a fun night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA GREEN

HERE'S A SHOUT OUT TO GRANDPA GREEN...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
WE LOVE YOU!!

Can't Wait Till Christmas

Getting into the Holiday Spirit with camo pants and a Santa hat. We are loving the holidays with all the lights and the tree.

Favorite Holiday treat. He eats about 3-4 candy canes a day. I had to hide them cause when they where on the tree he wanted one every five minutes. But what are the holidays without gaining a few lbs from all the candies and goodies!

Fall is sort of here!

During our trip to Tulare we got to play in some fall leaves. Gavin and I threw leaves in the air and watched them fall. It was fun, and a little chilly.

Yummmy

Gavin and his cousin AJ helped Grandma Schultz decorate her tree. This was fun for Gavin though I fear some ornaments had seen better days before Gavin got to them. He thought that Christmas ornaments looked good enough to eat and tried to bite into several of the yummy looking ornaments.

Cat Hunt

We got together to form our strategy of how to catch a cat. All our previous attempts have failed due to the loud screaming and flailing of limbs as we would approach the cats. I think Gavin has a good idea on how to accomplish our mission. He will simply not scream and flail his arms as he approaches the cats.

Scroll down to see what happens.

We have spotted a feline creature in the hedge of our neighbors yard. Go figure the cat would be there seeing as that is where it lives. Anyway, Gavin is attempting to charm the cat with smiles and laughter.

Scroll down to see if it works

Wait, the cat has seen us approach. Gavin is going to attempt to approach from a different angle. He is still smiling. Lets see if it works, you may scroll down to see what happens.

Alas, he has made it. The cat never saw it coming. The smiling and laughter has made the cat fall into a false sense of security and Gavin was able to approach. Neither cat nor child where harmed. This is rare. Will remember this technique for future cat stalks. You may scroll down now and leave a comment. Thank you!

Three Cheers just because

We where sitting around and watching our Richard Simmons work out video when Gavin decided it would be fun to throw his arms in the air and started cheering. We werent doing anything to cheer about but when you feel it I guess you better just let it out.

I was totally kidding about the Richard Simmons video. Honest

Rockin and Rollin

Due to the ever present obsession with everything bike. We delivered Gavin's Christmas present early. (I couldn't take it anymore...bike, bike, bike, bike, bike) When Jared arrived home from work we pulled the bike out of the box in pieces. (it comes that way) Gavin had no idea what it was. As we assembled it, it took on the shape of a tricycle and that was all she wrote. He saw that thing and was on it faster than we thought possible. The bike was not totally put together and it was very hard to keep the kid off of it as we tried to get it assembled. Once we had all the parts together and let him on it he went crazy. His trike can be made into a rocker or a bike that you can push or a bike that he can peddle.(pretty cool eh!) We tried out the rocker and he was so excited and was going nuts. We then made it so he could ride it as we pushed it. Lets just say we didn't get to stop after just a few minutes of pushing. But he quickly discovered that he can get his little legs to push it back and forth and was off like a little Harley Baby. It was his bedtime soon after and he didn't go to bed as willing as he usually does. So even though it isn't Christmas yet we got a little bit of that excitement already.

Gavin's Cubby

I recently cleared out a cupboard and dubbed it Gavin's cubby. It is now the coolest hiding place ever. He loves to close the doors and hide. Its funner to put himself in it rather than to put other things in it; except for his toy lawnmower which he feels needs to be stuffed into his cubby. The lawnmower of course does not fit into the cubby but he tries nonetheless.

He may look innocent, but he's not.

GOT'S CHEESE??

First weekend in November

Today we went for a bike ride. Gavin loves to ride in the trailer behind my bike. He gets to see all his friends in the neighborhood and we get out of the house for an hour or so. He pretty much wakes up in the morning saying "bike" over and over again. Then when we get him out of his crib he runs over to my bike and his trailer and tries to pull them over to the front door. This kid loves cycling. He takes after his old man.

Gymboree was closed this week so we couldn't go visit Gavin's little friends and play with the parachute. Instead we rode around the neighborhood and Gavin tried to help his mom with the yard work. He wasn't much help with that, so we tried on some Halloween costumes. On Halloween he dressed up as a vampire, but you can see he makes a cute little dragon as well.

Pajama Baby

Today in church we had our primary program. We have a group of about 10 kids. One of them was Gavin's adopted older brother Ryan. Gav loves Ryan and always gets a thrill when we go to visit. But today in Church Ryan was sitting up front and Gav thought that was pretty cool. So thru most of Sacrament meeting Gav would wave or give a thumbs up or call "Ryan". He would occasionally yell to get Ryan's attention if he wasnt looking. Gav had most of everyones attention. He is quite the pill but is very popular in church.

YAY!! ITS ALMOST HALLOWEEN

The "Scaries" as we call them.
It's going to be a devastating day when halloween is over. It has been so much fun having Gavin this year. He absolutely loves Halloween things. He makes a growling sound or says boo when he see's anything halloween. He loves his pumpkins and likes to go outside to see them. We go for walks everyday and he knows where all the "scaries" are. I just wonder what to do about Christmas because he is already pointing at Santa or snowmen and growling like a monster.
My little boy from the hood. He's the next white rapper.
Enjoying the final days (or so we thought) of summer. Just hanging out in the driveway waiting for any unsuspecting cats to wander by so that Gavin can pounce on them and twist their limbs and pull their hair, it's a wonder why no cats come to visit anymore.
Getting a suntan on those legs, uh, I mean feet.
My little burrito baby. I guess this is what happens when you live so close to Mexico. Luckily it was only temporary cause he looks good enough to eat. Is it bad to say that?
In an attempt to look smarter, Gavin has taken to wearing glasses that make him look smarter!
All the ladies are gonna be knocking our door down.

I TRIED TO BE GOOD, BUT I GOT BORED!

Dont be fooled.....He's definately up to something.
